Borland has posted the Call for Papers for BorCon 2005. Unless things change, I don’t plan on submitting any abstracts for consideration. Update: Borland has clarified this.
Nick Hodges explains the troubles here, and I can only add that there doesn’t seem to be an InterBase track. In the past it has taken me several months to prepare papers, code, and slides for BorCon and I can’t justify putting in this kind of effort if I have to pay for the privilege of promoting Borland and if these policies mean that top-notch speakers will stay home, reducing the value of attending the conference for me. Borland needs to demonstrate that they are going all-out to make this a great conference if they expect potential speakers to do the same thing.
If I can come up with anything constructive to help turn this around I’ll post it here.

Craig:
There is a Database track listed, which I assume would include InterBase.
I agree, though, that as a speaker, there’s much less incentive to go if you have to pay your own way.
