I updated my short article, Everything You Need to Know About InterBase Character Sets, based partially on some useful comments in this article by Peter Jacobi on Characters Sets in Firebird. Not everything in that article is relevant to InterBase, but I thought that Peter had an excellent point concerning the use of CHARACTER SET NONE as a column charset, so I’m borrowing it.
I’m also adding a section on non-ASCII characters in metadata names.
